Publications Forum explains steps to NACE authorship

By Ben DuBose

Editors and managers from the Publications Division of NACE International are hosting an “open house” at CORROSION 2018 to help explain the steps to become an author for NACE publications and NACE-published books and compilations.

The “How to Be an Author” session is slated for Tuesday, April 17 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. local time. It will be held in the Orange Theater (Booth 1555) in the Exhibit Hall at the Phoenix Convention Center.

NACE editors will be available throughout the 90 minutes to discuss the processes for publication. These comprise all facets of what should be submitted in an article, paper, or book proposal.

Topics will include how to become an author for NACE-published books and compilations, CORROSION journal—the technical research journal devoted to furthering the knowledge of corrosion science and engineering, and Materials Performance (MP) magazine—the NACE membership magazine that features articles concerning practical, field-oriented applications of technology. Information will also be provided on how to submit article leads to CoatingsPro Magazine.

The Publications team will share online resources for information on preparing and submitting manuscripts and proposals, as well as editorial calendars for the magazines. Attendees will be encouraged to ask questions and follow up with Publications staff and technical editors on specific inquiries as they work to become or continue as authors for NACE.
